Shipping Policy
Effective date: November 2, 2026
This policy is part of our Terms and Conditions. Delivery times in it are estimates, not promises.
1. Who ships your order
Each order is packed and shipped by the Vendor (the seller) you bought from, using a carrier such as FedEx, UPS, DHL, India Post, Blue Dart, DTDC or Delhivery. DesiDots does not store or ship products itself.
2. Where we deliver
- USA stores: delivery to addresses in the 50 United States and the District of Columbia. We do not currently deliver to US territories, military (APO/FPO) addresses or outside the USA.
- India stores: shipped by air from India to addresses in the same area.
- Some carriers cannot deliver to PO boxes. Use a street address unless the Vendor says a PO box is accepted.
3. Shipping costs
- Shipping is set by each Vendor. Many stores charge by the weight of your order and your delivery address. The shipping amount is worked out at checkout and shown to you before you pay. It is the Vendor’s own shipping price, and it can include import duties for orders from India (see section 7).
- Minimum order. Some stores have a minimum order. The cart tells you if you are below it.
- Too heavy for one parcel. If an order is above a store’s heaviest parcel, the app asks you to split it into two orders.
- No card or handling fee. We do not add a card processing fee or a handling fee at checkout. You pay the items, the shipping and nothing else.
- The price shown when you place an order is the price you pay. It does not change afterwards.
4. How long it takes
| Where it ships from | Vendor ships within | Usual delivery after it ships |
|---|---|---|
| USA stores | 2 business days of your paid order | 3 to 7 days |
| India stores | 5 business days of your paid order | 7 to 14 days |
Weather, holidays, carrier delays, customs and a Vendor’s stock can add time. A delay does not by itself entitle you to compensation. If the Vendor has not shipped your order 8 days after you paid, you can cancel it in the app for a full refund. If your order has not arrived after the delivery times above, follow section 8.
5. Tracking
When your order ships you receive a notification with the carrier and tracking number, and your order page shows them. For some carriers the link opens the carrier’s own page, for others a general tracking page (17TRACK). Tracking can take a day or more to update, especially for international parcels.
6. Delivery and risk
A parcel counts as delivered when tracking shows it was delivered to the address you gave, including when it was left at a door, mailroom, reception or safe place in line with the carrier’s usual practice. Make sure someone can receive it, or ask the carrier for a hold or signature where that is offered. Once a parcel is delivered, loss or theft is not our or the Vendor’s responsibility, except where the law says otherwise.
7. Orders from India: customs, duties and food
- Parcels from India pass through US customs. Customs may inspect, delay, hold, return, charge fees on, or destroy a parcel.
- Duties, taxes and fees. India stores must ship duty-paid: the Vendor pays the US import duties and customs fees, and they are included in the shipping price you see, so you should not be asked to pay anything on delivery. If a carrier or customs authority asks you to pay, or sends you a bill later, do not pay it yet. Email us with the bill and your order number. We deal with it with the Vendor and the carrier. DesiDots does not set duty amounts.
- Food, herbs, supplements and Ayurvedic or cosmetic products are regulated (for example by the FDA and USDA). Some items are restricted or refused at the border. Vendors must be registered with the FDA where the law requires, file the required notices for each shipment, and send only items that may lawfully be shipped, with correct US labelling. Perishable food can spoil in transit; see the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
- If customs holds or refuses a parcel because of a problem on the Vendor’s side, see section 6 of the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
8. Orders that do not arrive
Email support@desidots.com with your order number within the time limits in section 4 of the Refund and Cancellation Policy. We check tracking and contact the Vendor and carrier. If the parcel is lost, the Vendor reships or you are refunded.
9. Wrong or incomplete address
Check your delivery address before you order. If a parcel is returned or cannot be delivered because the address was wrong or incomplete, or nobody collected it, the order may not be refundable and reshipping may cost extra.
10. Split shipments
An order is normally shipped in one parcel, but a Vendor may send it in more than one. You get tracking for each.
